During this difficult time, LEAP continues to advocate on behalf of persons with disabilities.

LEAP is a member of the Developmental Disabilities Provider Consortium of Cuyahoga County (DDPC). DDPC works for and on behalf of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Northeast Ohio.

As a member, Melanie Hogan, Executive Director, connected DDPC with the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund to seek a grant for personal protection equipment (PPE).

Although we will not receive funding from the grant directly, we know the important impact this will have for residents of development disability agencies with residential services – many of whom are LEAP consumers.

This $100,000 awarded grant provides the funding to help support, and maintain, the health and well-being of over 1,600 consumers and more than 1,000 direct support professionals. It will allow for the crucial and much needed PPE equipment to ensure the safety of staff and the residents with intellectual and development disabilities they serve with items such as gowns, gloves, N95 masks, face shields and goggles.

Thank you to the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund for their support
