"The Best Job Experience I've Ever Had"

Brian is passionate about movies. Watching characters and their exciting stories play out on screen is one of his favorite ways to spend some time. With an interest in the movie business and a history of customer services jobs, Brian was thrilled to join the AMC Theatres team as an usher in June.

“It’s a great atmosphere, and a good fit because of my love for movies,” Brian said. In his previous work experiences, Brian has shined as a quick learner and someone who excels at working quickly and efficiently to get the job done. This opportunity afforded him the ability to combine his skills and his passion, a journey the LEAP Employment Team knows well.

Brian also credits a lot of his success to working with LEAP: “LEAP helped me with the job interview. I got some tips on how to clean theatres from the job coach, how to do something the best way, and how to be efficient with my time.”
His experience at AMC has also given Brian the chance to develop his communication skills. “I’m more social, not afraid to talk with people. The job coach helped a little bit, but most of it was me,” he said, confidently. Brian’s communication skills have also helped him take more initiative, an attribute his managers have noticed.

The encouraging environment at AMC was likely a contributing factor in Brian’s newfound confidence, as well. According to Brian, AMC puts on a variety of activities for staff, bolstering the camaraderie among employees. Recently, they held a Halloween Party, complete with pumpkin carving and a costume contest (Brian was a ninja). Brian has also enjoyed the employee screenings AMC provides. His favorite movie that he’s seen at AMC is Inside Out.

Overall Brian is pleased with the services he received from LEAP: “They were extremely helpful. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. They found me a job, and the tips the job coach gave me in the beginning made a big difference.”

Brian has plans for his future, as well. Working at AMC, he hopes to learn more about the business and eventually explore management. For now, Brian is content to keep learning and working hard. According to Brian, this is the "best job experience I've had."
